The project will be integrated within the Action PROCAS of the IES Global Environment Monitoring Unit, of which the main objective is to provide scientific and technical support in the development and implementation of EU Policies related to the marine and coastal environment. In the context of the PhD project, the objective is to provide effective information / indicators in support of an integrated assessment of the ecosystem health in coastal and marine environment; to analyze the impacts of regional climate variability and anthropogenic pressures on coastal and marine waters. The ideal candidate should have a University degree (giving access to the PhD) in oceanography, environmental sciences, physics or related fields. Knowledge in the field of marine biology and physics is required. Good comprehension of numerical computing, satellite data analysis tools and related issues is an asset. Good knowledge of spoken and written English is required. The knowledge of another community language would be an advantage. Relevant publications and presentations should be highlighted.
