We have a vacancy in the Environment team at our office in Bank, London EC3, for a Graduate Environmental Scientist, working in a team of around 20 people.
The role involves assisting in the assessment of Homecheck reports in relation to residential contaminated land assessments (under Part IIA of the EPA 1990) Part IIA has introduced further onerous burdens on property professionals. The issue of contaminated land and the potentially substantial costs of remediation, which may fall on the shoulders of the homeowner, has led to the widespread use of environmental searches as part of the house purchase process. The RPS team provides a review, assessment and support in relation to these searches. For further information about Homecheck please visit their website: www.homecheckpro.co.uk
The successful applicant will also be involved in other areas of work for commercial clients including, desk studies (Phase 1 reports) and site investigations (Phase 2) plus support as required to Sustainability, Flood Risk and Waste projects.
This is an ideal opportunity to begin a career in environmental consultancy and to develop a specialism in contaminated land. Applicants should have a relevant first degree (e.g. earth sciences or geology) and ideally an MSc (e.g. Environmental Technology), along with good communication, organisational and teamwork skills.
