Graduate Ecologist Inverness Natural Power is a leading independent renewable energy consultancy and products provider offering consultancy, management and due diligence services across the onshore wind, offshore wind, wave, tidal and biomass sectors. We have built a successful ethos for delivering environmentally rewarding projects that allow Clients to reach their economic objectives. The Ecology & Hydrology department within Natural Power is made up of a diverse range of ecologists and hydrologists with considerable technical experience and expertise from having worked on renewable projects for over twelve years. Now the UK’s largest renewables specific ecological consultancy, we are ideally placed to offer you support and guidance in order to progress as an ecologist in the renewable energy industry. We work on some of the most high profile on/offshore projects in the UK and you will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals. The Opportunity Due to the continued success and growth of the Natural Power Ecology and Hydrology department, we are looking for high calibre graduates with the right combination of technical expertise, commerciality and desire to work in renewables to join us as a Graduate Ecologist. Some of the duties and responsibilities associated with the role include:
Qualifications and Experience You will hold a degree or equivalent in a biological, environmental or ecological discipline with an in-depth knowledge in ecology and identification of a wide range of species in both the UK and internationally (mammals, birds, vegetation, habitat, etc.). Ideally this will be complimented with a postgraduate qualification in a relevant subject. Ideally you will have specialist knowledge/experience in:
You will possess excellent communication skills, being able to convey clear and concise information in both written and verbal format to staff, clients and third parties alike when applicable. You will have strong I.T. skills being a competent and proficient user of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook in particular). Exposure to an ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) or Document Management System would be highly advantageous. Due to the nature of the role, you will be expected to be flexible with your time and standard duties. A full driver’ licence and access to a vehicle is essential.
