Government Affairs Director - Power Company

Global leader in power generation, employing over 80,000 staff globally with a turnover of over 20Billion EUR are looking for a senior figure responsible for the promotion of the group's activity in the conduct of policies linked to energy and the environment by public authorities in and around Germany..

You will also play a role in devising and executing programs allowing the group to deal with legislative and regulatory initiatives; by way of;

 - Development and implementation of a program to influence key decision makers on legislative and public policy initiatives in climate, energy and technology sectors
 - Creating strong relationships with key member officials, policy makers etc in the Federal Government and Parliament and other administrations.
 - Work closely with the country Director of the firm and other group representatives to ensure advocacy initiatives are alligned and in synch with the need of the firm.

The ideal candidate will be educated to degree level, have 5 - 10 years experience dealing with German government relations in a multinational organisation. Policy knowledge and experience particularly linked with UNFCCC, G8 processes would be a distinct advantage.

Fluency in German and English essential.
