My client is a leading European manufacturer of thin film silicon solar modules with a global reach. They offer complete end-to-end solutions and have sales and service centres throughout Europe, Asia and North America.
Position Overview:
My client is seeking an experienced strategic buyer to support their sourcing team in Switzerland. The ideal candidate will have several years worth of experience in buying and purchasing production materials and technical components and will have experience of managing key accounts. You will be responsible for the full purchasing process from start to finish, including negotiating contracts on a global scale. This is an exceptional opportunity to join a market leader within the solar space in a hands on, leading role.
Responsibilities:-
- · Drive the performance of existing suppliers and qualify new suppliers based on cost, quality, and timely delivery measures
- · Manage key accounts (selected global strategic suppliers)
- · Optimize the material and supplier portfolio
- · Negotiate contracts with careful consideration to cost targets
- · Own the full purchasing process from execution of inquiries to tracking of open orders/contracts (order confirmation,
- · delivery tracking, invoice verification, maintenance of supplier and material master data in SAP)
- · Actively support supplier claim management
- · Initiate and support projects for cost reduction
- · Take responsibility for purchasing volume whilst ensuring that budgets are not exceeded
- · Actively support supplier claim management
- · Play a pivotal roles in supplier selection, evaluation and management
- · Cooperate across functions to manage the interface between suppliers and internal customers
- · Implement and execute defined cost roadmaps for key suppliers
Education:-
- · Engineering or economics background and a qualification in procurement
Core Requirements:-
- At least 5 years’ international experience in operational and strategic sourcing
- Experience of negotiating contracts with international companies
- · Excellent management skills
- · Ability to communicate across all levels of an organization
- · Advanced knowledge of SAP R/3 MM and MS Office tools
- · Fluency in German
- · Strong team communication and analytical skills
