Award winning, pioneering International Environmental Brokerage firm are looking for a Global Head of Carbon Origination, to have overall responsibility for project origination in CDM, JI and VERs. The role includes project identification, client/relationship management, and coordination of process and implementation. In addition the candidate will be responsible for the global development of local partnerships with consultants
Position will report jointly to Global Heads of GHG Americas and GHG London. Direct reports into the position will include a team of originators and project managers.
Key Responsibilities: - Develop the firms origination network worldwide, to include: - A strategy on which to focus future business/project opportunities both in terms of the projects themselves, but also the evaluation and development of a global partnership of consultants - A methodology for assessing and evaluating opportunities for viability - Coordination of origination activities globally, such that internal stakeholders and origination team members have the information they need - Ensuring that the chosen projects and work with consultants is developed and followed through in a timely fashion - Ensuring that the origination strategy is in harmony with the needs of the brokerage business - Represent and promote the firm at conferences/exhibitions and in publications as appropriate
Required Competencies and Experience: - Self-starter; Resourceful leader with the ability to influence others - Ability to work as part of a team and to develop the origination business as part of the brokerage business - At least 5 years experience and a proven track record of success in business development, relationship management, or project management roles, ideally with a focus on the energy sector, carbon market and/or - CDM project management - Excellent spoken and written English communication skills - Multi-cultural awareness of how to do business across different settings, and a willingness to travel extensively worldwide - Highly self-motivated, possessing excellent communication, organization, negotiation and analytical skills
