The Procurement organization at our global head office in Brande, Denmark, is expanding its activities, and we are therefore looking for a Global Commodity Manager. You will be responsible for a global commodity strategy across the main procurement hubs in Orlando and Shanghai.

Work Assignments

As a Global Commodity Manager you will report directly to one of the five Global Heads of Procurement managing the total Siemens Wind Power material spend. You will be responsible for strategic procurement and for striving for the best in a world-class procurement department.

More specifically, your assignments will cover:

• Designing and defining the strategy for your commodity, considering short, medium and long term scenarios and risks

• Organizing and executing global, regional and cross-regional bundling of the demands of the different sites/segments

• Analyzing demand, markets and suppliers to create a basis for deciding on the best sourcing strategy

• Being responsible for the selection of suppliers and undertaking supplier development and management

• Conducting price and contract negotiations to guarantee security of suppliers on the best conditions

• Planning, coordinating and guiding a team of Regional Commodity Managers/Buyers and leading cross-functional commodity teams comprising representatives from Engineering, Supplier Quality and Supply Management

Your Profile

You have a strong technical and commercial background combined with a minimum of 5+ years of professional procurement and/or supply chain management experience. Furthermore, you have leadership experience and preferably experience in project management. As a person you are proactive and result-oriented with a structured approach to complex tasks, and you are a skilled negotiator with strong strategic skills. You are a dedicated team player, but also capable of working independently, and you thrive in an intercultural environment. Additionally, you possess excellent communication and English skills both orally and in writing.
