As part of RWE Innogy, Npower Renewables Offshore Development Team is truly pioneering in the field of renewable energy. We delivered the UK’s first major offshore wind farm at North Hoyle. And we’re now forging ahead with a variety of groundbreaking offshore wind projects including Gwynt y Môr and Triton Knoll. At the same time, we’re gearing up for the next generation of wind farms which will be bigger and better than anything that’s gone before. Right now, we’re looking for a specialist in Geographical Information Systems; to help manage our data, and to generate the charts, maps and figures that have a crucial role to play in the design and consenting process. The role will also include the spatial analysis of physical, biological and human environment data, plus design inputs such as the assessment and manipulation of different wind turbine layouts. Whether you’ve gained it during the course of your studies or on-the-job in a similar role, you’ll need experience in setting up and using GIS systems – preferably with the ArcGIS range of products. Experience in data audit would also be an advantage. But perhaps most important will be your excellent communication skills and your highly organised approach.
