GIS Internship with Biodiversity Planning Programme March – December 2009 Pretoria National Botanical Garden Closing date: 16 Feb 2009 SANBI’s Biodiversity Planning Programme (Pretoria-based) is offering two exciting internship positions to promising students to contribute to the Programme’s knowledge and generation of planning products. Applicants must be black South Africans, must have completed their BSc Honours degree in Environmental/Natural Sciences and have some GIS / Remote Sensing training or experience. The interns will gain hands on experience in the following areas of work: biodiversity planning and conservation, GIS and information management, remote sensing, spatial analysis and scientific writing. The successful candidates will support the Programme in developing techniques for mapping land degradation, assist in spatial analysis, and support the dissemination of knowledge products The stipend offered is R5 000,00 per month. As this is a contract position, no benefits apply.
