GEOGRAPHY FIELD TEACHER (Trainee Tutor) Derrygonnelly, Northern Ireland
Field Studies Council (FSC) is an educational charity that delivers its mission of ´Bringing Environmental Understanding to All´ via its 17 Field Centres throughout the United Kingdom. We currently have a vacancy for a Trainee Tutor at our Residential Centre at Derrygonnelly, County Fermanagh.
In the important and challenging role of Trainee Tutor you will develop, plan and teach Geography and Ecology across a range of ages, from Key Stage 2 up to A-level and equivalent. Previous experience of fieldwork and of working with children or informally with groups are essential qualities for this post, along with a degree in geography or closely allied discipline. Knowledge of the National Curriculum is useful and training will be provided in a supportive working environment in all aspects of fieldwork teaching and group management. You´ll also be confident in working both in a team and independently and possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills. As a member of the teaching team, you will need the flexibility to become involved in all aspects of running a busy field centre.
Salary £10,734 per annum, including accommodation and meals whilst on duty. This post is offered on a fixed term contract of up to eleven months in the first instance.
