The Role

WIND PROSPECT

Having grown from a project development business into an international services business with some 250 professionals, Wind Prospect is looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and motivated General/Team Manager for our Energy Resource Services business. 

THE ROLE 
The company is seeking a self-starting professional who can manage a team consisting of energy resource specialists in Bristol and other offices, as well as be involved with the continued expansion of this product line’s global operations. The team consists of experienced engineers and analysts, primarily servicing clients across Europe and Africa. The team’s key skill/product is energy resource analysis for wind and solar on both pre and post construction projects utilising the latest modelling techniques. With the increasing internationalisation of the business, the successful candidate can expect to travel throughout these regions. The role is both technical and commercial as the team exists to provide consultancy services in the area of wind and solar resource, in support of other WPG businesses, and independent clients. The position will (i) provide technical leadership of the team, (ii) be responsible for its profitability and (iii) develop and grow the team and business. Reporting to the Director of Advisory and Energy Resource Services, the candidate will be based in Bristol, UK.

 

DUTIES WILL INCLUDE
• Management of a team of analysts, engineers and project managers, most of them based in the Bristol office 
• Management of workflow with regard to both technical and commercial aspects 
• Performing all business activities relating to the functioning of the team 
• Delivering a self sustaining, profitable business stream, and undertake the financial management and reporting of the business stream activities 
• Determine and implement business development strategies within the key markets in collaboration with other business managers within Wind Prospect Group 
• Conference presentations 
• Identifying new business opportunities and approaching new clients to market all Wind Prospect service types 
• Ensuring quality and consistency of all work undertaken through the team 
• Implementing training and expansion of the UK and international team 
• Supporting local WPG businesses in the marketing, sale, support and interaction of wind resource services with their own businesses 
• Developing the UK wind resource services annual business plan, and delivery of the strategic and financial objectives to ensure a steady growth of the business and the related returns to shareholders

The Candidate

REQUIRED SKILLS
• Relevant Degree level qualification (and likely Chartered status) 
• Proven work experience that is relevant to the role 
• Strong track record in wind (and solar) energy yield analysis and relevant related aspects 
• Leadership and team management experience 
• Sound professional network in the renewables industry 
• Ability to promote the company and win new business 
• Strong project management/administration skills, ideally gained within a consulting environment 
• Excellent communication, report writing and interpersonal skills 
• Organised thorough and diligent 
• Ability to perform under pressure 
• Fluency in one or more other European languages would be advantageous 
• Full driving licence as travel throughout the UK will be necessary with this role 
• Rights to live and work in the UK

The Salary

 Salary is negotiable depending upon experience.
