Fundraising Development Manager

Overview
The Chancery Lane Project (TCLP) is the largest network of lawyers and business leaders
using commercial contracts to deliver rapid decarbonisation globally.
We are seeking a full time Fundraising Development Manager to join this dynamic and
fast-moving project as it begins to scale globally.
The successful candidate will have unrivalled experience, combining passion for action
with professionalism, tackling the complex systemic issues of climate change using
powerful, pragmatic contract solutions.

About the role of Fundraising Development Manager
The Fundraising Development Manager will lead on developing the philanthropic income of
TCLP. The role will lead fundraising from trusts and foundations, develop and deliver an
individual donor strategy for TCLP and develop a five year fundraising strategy for the
organisation. These will ensure the viability of TCLP as it grows in the short term, and
moves to a sustainable funding model in the medium to long term.
This role will report to the Executive Director.

Job description
Responsibilities include:

  • Develop, execute and manage a five year fundraising strategy in partnership with the Executive Director, that inspires more foundations to join us on our mission, and develops an individual giving strategy to increase the long-term resilience of TCLP.
  • Conduct research on foundations and other sources of giving, and prepare donor profiles to assess likelihood of funding.
  • Create grant proposals, finding creative and innovative ways to connect with foundations that align with our vision and mission, and to demonstrate the benefits of partnership.
  • Manage our donor database (Salesforce), establishing systems and processes, and creating a pipeline that captures ask and expected amounts.
  • Strengthen our current relationships, and cultivate relationships with prospective donors.
  • Work alongside TCLP’s Communications, Community and Engagement (CCE) team to manage in-person and virtual fundraising events.
  • Review and process all incoming grant agreements.
  • Work closely with the Finance and Reporting Manager to develop accurate and realistic budgets for fundraising activities and grant applications.
  • Monitor and review budget performance regularly, ensuring effective allocation of resources and identifying any potential financial risks or opportunities.
  • Provide ad hoc support to the Executive Director.

Person specification
The successful candidate will be a self-starter, who is passionate about sustainability and
making a difference on climate change.

    Specifically, the candidate will have the following attributes:
  • 5+ years of relevant fundraising or partnership-building experience.
  • Exceptional and creative writing skills, with proven success in creating content that gains significant funding.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Salesforce experience preferred.

Employment arrangements

  • Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 depending on experience.
  • This is a full time permanent role.
  • Remote working, Remote working, candidates must be UK-based
  • 25 days holiday p.a. plus public holidays.
