Forestry Contract Supervisor – Homeworking PeeblesshireSummary We are looking for a Contract Supervisor based from Peebles, to cover the Scottish Borders and the Central Belt. You will be working with the Forest Managers in planning and implementing operational woodland creation work programmes in a safe, environmentally aware, and efficient manner to meet the requirements of the UK Forestry Standard. In planning work, the Contract Supervisor will liaise with neighbours, stakeholders, and colleagues to make informed decisions. The Contract Supervisor has a key role in setting and maintaining health, safety, and environmental standards on working sites. Principle Responsibilities Supervision To supervise operation sites to identify health, safety, and environmental issues, and take corrective action. To monitor progress against the contract or work schedule. To accurately record site visits and keep the Forest Manager and other colleagues informed of progress and other issues in a timely manner. Supervise contractors providing appropriate levels of support and maintaining safety standards. Oversee the day-to-day management of on-site facilities including environmental, welfare, and safety standards. Handle the logistics for the smooth running of operational programmes. Be ready and available to provide professional support for emergency incidents. Contract Management Support the Forest Manager in preparing contracts and other work programmes, including the use of Geographic Information Systems to produce accurate contract maps as well as the review and preparation of appropriate risk assessments. Site Planning and Liaison Support the Forest Manager in planning operational work programs in a safe, environmentally aware, and efficient manner, completing Operational & Environmental Site Assessments and gathering data / information to inform operational planning. Liaise with neighbours, stakeholders, and colleagues as required. Person Specification Essential A working knowledge of forest operations with a proven track record in successfully supervising forest operations including tree planting, maintenance, ground preparation, and fencing. Full UK Driving License. Desirable Experience in the use of IT applications such as 365 suite and GIS software. Benefits
