Description
This position’s key task is to develop methodologies to link genomics with quantitative genetics and phenomics in a systems biology framework.  The position will fill a critical shortage in our bioinformatics capability.  The duties of the position will initially include:
  • Develop applied bioinformatics solutions to unique problems in association genetics, gene discovery and gene network analysis for tree species (40% time).
  • Develop applied systems biology to link allele effects from association genetics with breeding values from quantitative genetics, and optimal breeding strategies for advanced national breeding programs (30%).
  • Conduct high level quantitative genetics analyses of subtropical and tropical forest species (30%).
