Floodplain Modeller – Project Engineer

The water market is booming and our client is at the forefront of this exciting time in the industry. As a leading international multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy, they offer a broad range of services including environmental, energy, defence, infrastructure and water. Due to a surge in demand from both private and government clients, they are Project Engineers with experience in floodplain modelling.

Based in the Melbourne office and reporting to the Regional Manager of the Water Team, you will be involved in a variety of project work including flooding, coastal assessments and the production of WSUD models. Your role will require you have experience in and the ability to produce:

•    Hydraulic & Hydrologic and flood modelling (2D hydraulic modelling experience is highly desirable)
•    Water catchment and cluster scale stormwater management and modelling, specifically relating to modelling urban water demand
•    Hydrodynamic and water quality modelling (1D, 2D and 3D receiving water) and management - Modelling Rivers, Lakes, and Estuaries
•    Coastal and estuary modelling (2D hydrodynamic models and wave models)
•    WSUD models

The ideal person for this position will:

•    Have a Degree in a relevant Engineering/Scientific field
•    Have a minimum of 5 years’ experience
•    Be interested in working at the forefront of technology, and
•    Be capable of identifying new technologies
•    Undertake projects with minimal supervision
•    Display a knowledge of GIS techniques and relevant software applications
