Is your background in sustainable fisheries management and marine protection? Do you want to work at the interface of science and management to help protect the oceans and safeguard seafood supplies? If so, this could be the opportunity for you: developing and implementing a standard for well-managed, sustainable fisheries. The MSC is currently recruiting for a Fisheries Standard Manager. You’ll have the opportunity to contribute to the running of the MSC’s Fisheries Standard and oversee the certification of fisheries by third-party auditors. You will join a close-knit team who develop the Fisheries Standard and are responsible for more than 400 fisheries in the MSC Program, ensuring that our requirements are applied correctly and consistently. This post has a particular focus on the MSC’s tuna strategy and technical work related to Principle 1 of the Fisheries Standard. As such, the ideal candidate will have professional experience with fisheries management, assessment or monitoring, as well as a good knowledge of current issues in tuna fisheries.
