Description

The Zoological Society of London (ZSL), a charity founded in 1826, is a world-renowned centre of excellence for conservation science and applied conservation. ZSL’s mission is to promote and achieve the worldwide conservation of animals and their habitats. This is realised by carrying out field conservation and research in over 50 countries across the globe and through education and awareness-raising at our two zoos, ZSL London Zoo and ZSL Whipsnade Zoo, inspiring people to take conservation action.

We are offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced administrator to join our Operations Team within the Conservation Programmes department.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the post holder will work with staff based in both the UK and overseas, to provide support with budget management, financial reporting and the production and submission of funding proposals. They will be relied upon to deliver finance training sessions to new starters and early stage conservationists. The post holder will also be required to process invoices, expenses and international transfers and ensure that the associated paperwork is audit worthy and filed electronically.

The post holder should have a BSc or equivalent in a related field, a book keeping or accounting qualification and sound experience of financial administration, preferably within an NGO/charity setting. Excellent organisation and communication skills will be essential in successfully fulfilling this busy and demanding role.

The position will be based at ZSL’s offices in London. The position is a full time and permanent and the start date will be as soon as possible. The salary is dependent on experience and skills. A full job description can be found on the ZSL website.

Applicants should complete the ZSL Application Form on our website and send, together with their CV, by email to hr@zsl.org by Sunday 5th April 2015.
