Description

Field Studies Council (FSC) is an educational charity that delivers its mission of 'Bringing Environmental Understanding to All' via its 17 Field Centres throughout the United Kingdom. We currently have a vacancy for a Trainee Tutor at our Day Centre at Amersham.

In this important and challenging role of a Trainee Tutor you will develop, plan and teach Geography and Ecology across a range of ages, from Key Stage 1 up to A-level. Previous experience of teaching and/or fieldwork and a degree in geography / environmental science / ecology or closely allied discipline are essential. Knowledge of the National Curriculum is useful and training will be provided in a supportive working environment in all aspects of fieldwork teaching and group management. Youll also be confident in working both in a team and independently and possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills. As a member of a small team, you will need the flexibility to become involved in all aspects of running a small environmental education centre.

Salary £10,734 per annum, including accommodation. The post is offered on a fixed term contract of up to eleven months in the first instance.
