FIELD TEACHER in ECOLOGY and ENVIRONMENTAL STUDIES
Full-time or Part-time Senior Tutor
Flatford Mill Field Centre
South Suffolk

FSC is an educational charity that delivers its mission of 'Bringing Environmental Understanding to All' via its 17 Field Centres throughout the United Kingdom. We currently have a vacancy for a Senior Tutor at our residential Centre at Flatford Mill, South Suffolk. This position is offered either as a full-time contract or can be negotiated as a part-time contract, from 0.5 FTE upwards.

The successful applicant will be an experienced teacher with a strong background in ecology or a related biological discipline. A significant amount of teaching will be Ecology at AS/A2 Level and also at Key Stages 4 and 3. Teaching will also involve Environmental Studies activities for younger children at Key Stage 2 and, on occasions, some secondary Geography.

You will work closely with colleagues in the Flatford Mill Education Team. Appropriate aspects of Centre management will also be delegated depending on your skills, experience and interests. At least two years teaching experience is essential, as is a good working knowledge of the current curriculum and specifications. You'll also be confident working both in a team and independently and possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Starting date negotiable: from early March onwards, but no later than 1 June 2009. Salary is offered in the range of £19,612 - £22,380 depending upon qualifications and experience, pro rata if part-time. This vacancy is offered as a non-resident appointment and advice can be given if required on seeking appropriate accommodation in the local area.
