Job Description • 1st level of interface to the customer for Nanosolar technical customer service • Manages technical support and product training for Nanosolar customers in North America • Be a bridge between Nanosolar customers and product development team to deliver industry-leading power plant performance. • Provide Initial on-site support and troubleshooting for customers’ installations, operations and maintenance. Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action processes including Return Materials Authorization • Assist customers with power plant designs; develop internal design review process • Provide performance/yield estimates to support customer sales and design efforts • Contribute detailed knowledge of commercial inverter products, their characteristics and performance in combination with Nanosolar PV Panels • Support a best-in-class Nanosolar Utility Panel electrical system design based on Balance-of-System requirements for specific customers • Support and enable field performance tests; monitor and analyze field performance data, including inputs for product performance system. • Review and approve product technical documentation • Develop and maintain a detailed knowledge of the relevant Electrical Codes in the North American markets in which Nanosolar competes • Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction and support, including supporting semi-annual customer satisfaction surveys
Job Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in the areas of electrical engineering, photovoltaics, power plant design and/or power plant performance • Prior experience in the solar energy industry is a big plus, especially with electrical inverters and/or power plant design and performance • BS degree, electrical engineering highly preferred • Strong knowledge of electrical component theory and practice in the solar industry, or a related industry such as UPS, DC/AC power systems, or motor drives • Experience with technical training. • Must have a strong interest in the future success of solar energy
Minimum Qualifications • Communicates openly and effectively across diverse groups including global offices and all functions. • Strong presentation, project management and client-facing skills. • Expertise in PV performance modeling (PVsyst) and analysis. • Knowledge of PV power plant electrical design, inverters and other balance of system components. • Able to balance office responsibilities with hands-on, field engineering work. • Organized work style that reduces firefighting and relies on planning and proactive action. • Articulate communication skills; he/she will be required to write customer visit reports, technical notes and be able to communicate with all levels of customers on business and technical subjects, • Excellent customer liaison skills and a strong customer service ethic.
