Description

The International Council on Transportation (ICCT) has an exciting 9-month Marine Fellowship opportunity based in our Washington, D.C. Office. This fellow will focus on analyzing the volume of low- and zero-emission fuels needed at U.S. West Coast ports to support a China-California 100% zero-emission vessel (ZEV) corridor by 2050.

Position Responsibilities

  • Contribute to technical research projects through data gathering and analysis, application of models, and other similar activities;
  • Draft written papers to summarize research findings with guidance from marine research staff;
  • Contribute to relevant policy analysis to support clean transportation policies; 
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, environmental science, environmental policy, energy and resources, transportation-related field or other relevant subject
  • A demonstrated interest in climate change, air quality, energy, environment, public health, or related topics; familiarity with environmental and energy challenges in the transportation sector preferred;
  • Excellent and demonstrated quantitative, analytical, and research skills;
  • Strong interpersonal and English communication skills, both written and verbal; reading and writing proficiency in a second language is strongly preferred; and
  • Great organization and collaboration skills combined with flexibility and a positive attitude.

Position Details

This is a full-time, temporary position (40 hours per week) located in Washington, D.C. The fellowship offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.
