Experienced Mechanical Engineer, Scotland

My client is large multinational energy consultancy that is keen to expand their base of mechanical engineers. They are keen to look at candidates with a strong background in renewable energy and with a proven track record of leadership within large complex projects. The ideal candidate will have worked in a senior capacity both on and offsite for large wind or thermal energy projects and have a robust mentally that will allow for them to transition quickly from onsite to offsite tasks. This robust mentality will also be needed when liaising  with a variety of stakeholders simultaneously. My client is also keen to see candidates with a strong academic background in mechanical engineering therefore MSc qualifications in Mechanical Engineering are strongly preferred. This role will suit an ambitiously individual with a high technical aptitude as well as excellent interpersonal skills

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

• Working with project leaders to ensure that projects are constantly evolving while keeping to set out schedule
• Leading a group of mechanical engineers on challenging yet rewarding projects through to completion
• Reporting all project progress to senior project managers and directors before working with them to make the project more efficient.
• Coordinating the efforts of all stakeholders to ensure that project is delivered according to the specification developed by owner’s engineer

Requirements:

• 5+ years in electrical engineering
• Msc in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• Extensive experience in renewable energy
• Proven track record of leadership especially on large projects
• Experience working in a multi-project environment
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
