My client is a globally renowned solar photovoltaic (PV) project developer, with a proven track record over 10 years. They provide clean and reliable solar electric power to on-grid and off-grid residential, commercial, industrial and utility scale applications around the world. They have partners throughout Asia, Europe and North-America, are constantly growing and developing new methods to stay ahead of their competitors. They are now looking to deliver a number of large projects in Europe and are looking for an experienced individual to head of their projects in the European market.
Responsibilities:
- Head up the project development team responsible for the origination, development and sales of international large scale solar photovoltaic (PV) projects up to financial close
- Identify, assess and create project development opportunities
- Will be conducting market analysis and feasibility and risk assessment studies on a daily basis
- Negotiation and acquisition of lease agreements and securing grid connections and building permits
- Proactively sourcing new investors and projects to grow the business
- Will be managing multiple projects simultaneously to strict deadlines and to above satisfactory standards.
- Assessing profitability of projects and successful development including the preparation of land for construction
- Identification of project sites, land procurement, licensing
- Feasibility studies (site qualification, etc.)
- Project negotiations (with diverse project partners like local developers, IPPs or utilities)
- Project financing
- Planning and implementation of market entries
- Develop and set up international strategic partnerships with utilities, project developers, IPPs
Requirements:
- Minimum 4-7 years experience, with a proven track record in the development of solar photovoltaic (PV) projects
- Degree in environmental planning, civil engineering, engineering or equivalent qualification of relevance
- Excellent communications skills
- Must have Relevant operational experience gained in a waste or environmental management sector in local and international markets
- Strong leadership qualities
- Excellent commercial experience
- Good oral and written communications skills
- Project and time management skills
- Ability to manage a multi-cultural workforce
- Must have excellent (spoken, written and reading) Italian language skills( German, French, English or Spanish beneficial)
