European Environmental Auditor

Within the Environment and Product Safety Business Unit, our client is looking for a European Environmental Auditor to grow with the development of the business and to support Standards and Performance in Europe. The key tasks are:
- To plan and support the implementation of  ISO14001 certification for new sites.
- To execute EMS audits in EU and EMBU as appropriate to prepare them for external audit.
- Manage the audit process including audits carried out by NSO managers.
- To support and advise the NSO’s on ISO14001.
- To audit the performance indicators and carry out performance analysis and explore opportunities to improve performance of relevant business operations.
- Pro-actively propose and initiate operational improvements in order to ensure legal compliance, meet stakeholder expectations or improve business performance. 
- To manage the collation of  reporting of action plans and progress in the NSO’s on behalf of Senior Management.
- Pro-actively propose and initiate system improvements to improve efficiency and control.
- Guide and support business units and functions in change processes.
- Execute specific tasks related to the environmental management system, e.g. training, monitoring, auditing and administrating systems. 
- Train newcomers and assist in training new NSO managers.
- Support and assist with broker audits.
- Identify legal developments for the operations in the Netherlands and conduct legal compliance audits in the facilities.
- Support and assist with green procurement audits.
- Please note that travel will comprise approximately 20 – 25% of this position.
Key Relationships will be with Internal - EPS team members, NSO Environment Managers and staff, Senior Management across Europe, Communications and IT Department. Externally with SGS Auditors, Legal Advisors, Regulatory Bodies.
- Procedures and policies in place for ISO14001 to be followed.
- Responsible to European Environment Manager.
- Auditor to report and escalate issues as appropriate.
Performance Measures
- Maintenance of global certification of ISO14001 in Europe with no major non-conformities
- Achievement of ISO14001 for new sites
- Achievement of European initiatives and objectives and continuous improvement – auditor to focus on monitoring action plans to be driven by senior management.
 Essential Requirements
- Fluent English, both written and spoken.
- Minimum Bachelor or University level education in a discipline such as Business Administration or Environment.
- Knowledge and understanding of ISO 14001.
- Knowledge and understanding of environmental management and / or some working experience with the environment industry but not necessarily in an international environment.
- Experience and/or qualifications as an auditor or consultant.
- Knowledge of a second European language over and above English is essential and at least two of the following are required:
- Dutch
- German
- Spanish
- French
You need to be a self-starter with an ability to work remotely with analytical skills and some understanding of change management.
