Supervisor: Chief Estimator

Description: This key member of the team will be responsible for providing accurate and competitive estimates for construction cost and schedule in support of the company's renewable energy power plant development and construction business.

Responsibilities:

1. Use standardized tools and processes, prepare accurate and competitive estimates of project cost and schedule.
2. Ability to recognize and recommend alternative designs/scope definitions which support consistency, standardization, and cost competitiveness.
3. Ensure quality and environmental procedures are maintained.
4. Understand contract terms and able to recognize discrepancies.
5. Develop documentation of cost and schedule in support of the bidding process.
6. Define scope of work within a proposal.
7. Gather details and maintain current market data necessary to accurately estimate construction, material, and soft costs associated with project construction.
8. Receive requests for quotes from in-house developers and from third party construction bids.
9. Review quote requirements, work with design team to define engineering requirements, estimate quantities, and obtain quotes from subcontractors and suppliers.
10. Summarize and put into a proposal form and provide complete project estimate spreadsheets.    
11. Familiarity with standard construction industry concepts, practices, and procedures.
12. Ability to drive innovation of new processes while supporting corporate standards for quality.

Requirements:

1. Minimum three years of proven utility or industrial experience that includes a proven track record in civil and/or electrical construction estimating.
2. Expertise and the necessary skills to interface with the client and be instrumental in delivering on time cost effective projects.
3. Ability to travel.
4. Skilled in MSOffice and Outlook.
5. Good communication skills with the ability to clearly describe the advantages and disadvantages of various designs.
6. Self-motivated and able to complete all tasks with minimal supervision.
7. Experience with Timberline estimating and/or On-Screen takeoff software a plus.
8. Experience working with subcontractors to define scope of work.

Education: BS engineering degree in construction related areas such as civil, structural, electrical or mechanical engineering, or Bachelor degree in construction management with an emphasis in estimating
