My client is a national multi disciplinary renewable energy consulting company. They are focused on the mechanical, electrical engineer fields in the renewable energy market. They are currently expanding their team in the renewable market and have worked on projects that include biomass, hydro power, on and offshore wind power.
Position Overview
My client is looking for an experienced estimating manager in the field of electrical engineering and grid connection. This role will report directly into the senior business manager and be responsible for a growing team of estimators and support staff. You will work on a national level and help grow the company in the field of renewable energy.
Responsibilities:
- A senior management position, you will be managing the entire estimating function, from tender review to pre-contract award
- You will oversee the team of estimators currently standing at 4 but expected to expand to 8 by this time next year
- Develop bid cost estimates of renewable energy projects with a particular focus on onshore and offshore wind projects
- Provide cost estimates or cost plans for projects during design development stage
- Experience in grid connection and electrical engineering cost estimation in the renewable energy field
- You will prepare cost estimates, bid price breakdown and project budgets whilst overseeing the expanding team of estimators focused on electrical engineering and grid connections
Education:
Electrical engineering degree minimum or equivalent
Core Requirements:-
- Must have 2-4 years cost estimating or estimating management experience
- 1-4 years experience in the renewable energy field preferably wind industry on and/or offshore
- Proven ability to communicate across all levels of an organization and work closely with managers in a large international company
- Proven track record in team management and growth
- Ability to manage multiple large scale projects
General Requirement
- Ability to travel internationally
- UK driving licence
- Ability to manage multiple projects in an environment of constantly changing priorities
- Ability to work independently but within tightly controlled business policies
