Would you like to join our Energy and Sustainability team? 

We are currently recruiting for an Estates Sustainability Manager, where you will be required to undertake activities to deliver on the strategy in relation to Sustainable Development, including sustainable procurement, Climate Change, and the key environmental impact which operational activities can have on the environment.

You will support the Energy and Sustainability Team to manage and co-ordinate environmental compliance and implement sustainable development. 

You can be flexibly based in one of our UK office’s and we have a flexible hybrid working approach, meaning the role will be a combination of office/home working.

What you’ll be leading on

  • Work with the team to develop and deliver a strategy to address issues such as energy use, resource conservation, recycling, pollution reduction, waste elimination, transportation, education, and building design. 
  • Advise on sustainable design and development and attending meetings and site visits as and when necessary. 
  • Review sustainable development impact assessments for policies and projects in a timely manner, providing guidance to staff to ensure they are consistent with sustainability related compliance, policy and strategy issues.
  • Lead on data collection and ensure accurate analysis and reporting of information to monitor performance against agreed department and corporate sustainability performance indicators.
  • Play a key role in the drafting and production of the annual sustainable development update report and support the production of other reports addressing sustainable development issues.

To be successful you’ll need

  • Good analytical skills in order to undertake research and summarise findings. 
  • Knowledge and experience of using standard office software products to enable the production and maintenance of a range of complex documents and spreadsheets. 
  • Strong understanding of corporate sustainability and a good technical understanding of sustainability in the built environment. 
  • A bachelors or master’s degree either in a sustainability or built environment subject and gained relevant work experience
  • Experience working in the built environment industry / sustainability sector.
