This project seeks to re-establish a relationship between children and other animals and the environment, and uses horses as a bridge for this mission. Children from the local school are invited to interact with the horses and the land with some time dedicated to artistic expression with an underlying message about sustainable living practices. The project seeks interns to assist with the horses. Responsibilities include horse training, feeding and grooming, and assistance with beach riding tours. Interns must have some experience of working with large animals, but most importantly, candidates must possess a desire to pursue a career in animal sciences. The projects also welcomes interns with experience in communications/marketing, journalism, and art.
The project costs £250 for the first month (negotiable for every subsequent month) which includes accommodation, two meals per day, airport pick-up, Wi-Fi access, 24/7 access to the horses, tours to different beaches, surfing lessons, and the chance to learn or improve your Spanish.
