Environmental/Ecology Intern

TRC is seeking highly motivated and diverse Environmental (Planning, Permitting, and Licensing)/Ecology Interns for our summer intern program. This is a paid full-time position. This position has the potential to transition into a Full-Time role upon graduation. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of Project Managers and Team Leaders and partner with engineers, scientists, and technologists.

Responsibilities

Our Environmental (PPL) Interns:

• Assist on current environmental permitting and compliance projects
• Assist with wetland delineations, wildlife and plant surveys, and other biological fieldwork
• Document research and field investigations, including surveying and data recovery
• Assist with developing and writing reports and environmental permitting documents
• Perform water quality sampling, vegetation mapping, quality control checks
• Support additional tasks as necessary

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Pursuing Bachelor or Associate Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Policy, Biology, Ecology, Natural Resources, Conservation, Fisheries, Wildlife, Botany, Wetlands Science or related field
• Minimum GPA of 3.0
• Excellent data collection, technical writing and communication skills
• Collaborative, organized, self-motivated, detail orientated person
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) and Google Earth
• Honest, fun, hard-working and ready to learn and grow

Preferred Qualifications

• The successful candidate will also be able to perform well with minimal supervision and have familiarity with GPS and GIS technologies
• The candidate should have a strong ability to prioritize, organize, and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously.
• Experience with engineering software applications (AutoCad, MathCad, ESRI, HydroCad, WaterCad, ARCView GIS, etc.) is preferred but not required

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.

Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company’s annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
