Environmental Specialist II Position Overview The Environmental Specialist II is a position building on skills gained as an Environmental Specialist I that supports the project team by conducting environmental evaluations, producing environmental related reports and other related tasks. In this role, an employee will be expected to develop and demonstrate proficiency within the following responsibilities and competencies. Responsibilities/Job Purpose · Conduct Baseline Environmental Assessment.· Conduct internal and external research by gathering current and historical data from city and township ordinance, maps and site visits. · Conduct inventory on operational and calibration status; sample instruments; and chain of custody sheets. · Maintain safe work environment by complying with Atwell and/or site-specific Health and Safety Plans by: using proper personal protection equipment, obtain and maintaining First Aid and CPR certification, participating in the Atwell medical monitoring program, and maintain OSHA HAZWOPER certification. · Monitor and train crew members for proper safety precautions. · Conduct field work by collecting samples and field measurements in accordance with project scope of work.· Prepare samples for laboratory submittal by following appropriate sample preparation protocol and completing chain-of-custody documents.· Assist in leading of field activities by directing subcontractors and field staff, and recording field notes legibly and accurately.· Prepare summaries, figures, and graphs by tabulating analytical data, site data, and field notes.· Prepare soil boring logs and sample data tables.· Prepare draft and final reports by assembling notes and details in written format under direction of project team leader.· Coordinate site access and provide notification of site activity to client.· Utilize AutoCAD and related software packages to complete assignments on time and within prescribed standards as outlined in the Atwell Product Quality Manual.· Establish personal network.· Communicate with Senior Environmental Specialist, Project Manager, and Team Leader on workload status in order to meet designated chargeability goals.
