The Division
The Environment team has expanded rapidly over the past few years and brings together a wide range of knowledge and capacity in order to provide solutions to the variety of issues related to the environment. Our expertise covers a wide range of environmental areas including soil, water, air, wastes and noise and our consultants have an in-depth knowledge of environmental technology, legislation, regulations, management systems and communications.

In order to assist with ongoing and future business, a (Senior) Environmental Scientist is required at our Dublin office. This position offers excellent opportunities for a dynamic and client focussed individual.
Job description
You will have either specific expertise in an area related to EIA and/or SEA (e.g. ecology, landscape, planning, geomorphology, air quality, noise, etc) or general EIA / SEA experience for a range of projects.

Some of the key tasks to be undertaken in this role include:
  • Assistance with ongoing EIA, SEA and other related studies for projects in the coastal, freshwater and terrestrial environments, including project management and technical input.
  • Assistance with ongoing business development of Irish markets including networking and tendering.
  • General support, as required, to the Environment Business Group at other offices, and other duties for which your line manager may reasonably request within the broad parameters of your role.
Your qualifications and experience
Your qualifications and experience will include:

Essential:
  • A graduate qualification in a relevant discipline.
  • Proven experience of working in environmental consultancy or a related discipline.
  • Good understanding and application of EIA and SEA best practices and undertakings, including project management, that can be demonstrated through previous experience.
  • Effective communicator.
  • A network of relevant contacts and a positive personal reputation.

    Desirable:
  • A post-graduate qualification in a relevant discipline.
  • Membership of a chartered organisation.
  • Knowledge of the Irish environmental consultancy market and its drivers.
