| Are you a dynamic individual experienced in building relationships with public and government agencies, as well as identifying and evaluating environmental impacts? If so, bring your passion for the environment and play a key role with the Ministry of the Environment, northern region, in providing expertise to ensure sound management of environmental issues. Your primary role will be to promote environmental protection and conservation, provide legislative and policy advice and recommendations to planning approval authorities. You will review official plans and amendments, and plans of subdivisions, as well as provide pre-submission consultation. You will also evaluate applications and projects for approval under the class environmental assessment (EA) requirements of the Environmental Assessment Act, and prepare minister`s correspondence, briefing notes and other documents.
| Qualifications:sound knowledge and experience in the application of theories, principles and practices of environmental science, land use planning, environmental assessment processes and related legislation as well as provincial policy statement; proven analytical, research, technical, evaluative, planning, organizational and project management skills; well developed communication skills; demonstrated interpersonal, negotiation, and arbitration skills; working knowledge of computers and various software applications; proven ability to work in a team and independently; valid driver`s licence and ability to travel in remote service area.
