Environmental Project Officer

Our client is a popular clothing company with a UK office based in Cheltenham. The Environmental Project Officer will have day to day responsibility for measuring, monitoring and managing  key operational environmental impacts – carbon emissions, packaging and waste.  They will need demonstrable abilities to manage environmental KPIs and the core skills to facilitate environmental change in different departments.  The role will suit someone with two years environmental consultancy experience and carbon footprinting technical capability is essential.

Key responsibilities

• 
  Measure and monitor carbon emissions and prepare an
  annual carbon footprint
• 
  Deliver strategic carbon emissions reductions under
  direction from the Sustainability team
• 
  Measure and monitor packaging impacts in line with
  the UK Packaging Regulations and deliver environmental improvements to product
  packaging
• 
  Measure and monitor waste volumes and deliver
  improvements in recycling
• 
  Deliver a range of other environmental projects e.g.
  textile recycling programme
• 
  Motivate, communicate and engage with other
  employees to deliver environmental change within the business
• 
  Help report on other sustainable business KPIs
• 
  Assist on other Corporate Responsibility projects
  e.g. ethical trading

Skills/experience

• 
  Higher education qualifications preferable
• 
  Carbon footprinting technical capability
• 
  Experience delivering organisational carbon
  emissions reductions
• 
  Self-starter mentality
• 
  Must be motivated to help Group achieve
  sustainability ambitions
• 
  Proficient in Microsoft Excel
• 
  Adaptable

Location: Cheltenham

Remuneration: circa £23,000 pa
