An opportunity to join a hardworking, committed team seeking to improve the environmental performance of Leicestershire County Council, to improve the environment of Leicestershire and meet the challenges and opportunities of biodiversity loss and climate change, during testing financial times for local government and an evolving political, legislative and economic landscape.
The role will require someone with a sound understanding of environmental issues and relevant environmental legislation. They should have excellent applied experience and knowledge particularly around issues within ecology but also understand the role of and issues relating to Green Infrastructure and Landscape.
Experience of shaping and directing tasks with & for others to deliver will be needed. With proven examples of where leadership of volunteers and staff has resulted in successful outcomes for projects or programmes.
They should have experience of working with and developing strong partnerships with a variety of stakeholders from the public, private and voluntary sectors. Good communication and presentation skills as well as the ability to negotiate, shape and influence to achieve successful outcomes is important.
The role will require someone who can work on their own initiative and as part of multi-disciplinary teams. They should also be able to work to tight timescales and to agreed targets. They should have a customer focussed and outcomes-based approach to doing their job.
