Environmental Officer

Our client is a joint venture engineering consultancy specialising in highways. It is looking for an Environmental Officer to provide an environmental management function which assists in the sustainable delivery of schemes and routine activities, as well as managing the environmental impacts of the contracts. You will support the team leader in ensuring that the environmental assessment of schemes are undertaken in accordance with legislation, best practice and procedures within agreed time scales and budgets. You will also ensure that environmental management plans and specifications for company schemes are carried out in accordance with company procedures, along with liaising with and providing advice to project managers and designers in regard to environmental assessment and management requirements. You will ensure that the EMS system is actively applied to the environmental assessment and management of highways works, and meets the standards of ISO14001.  In addition, you will assist in the measurement of reporting of KPI's.
You will be a member of IEMA and have experience in environmental assessment and management, client and stakeholder liaison and knowledge of relevant EIA legislation and best practice.
