As a provider of specialist facility management services to Government defence departments, our client is urgently seeking the skills of a suitably experienced Environmental Manager. Working from the Melbourne CBD and reporting the Regional Manager, you will be required to oversee the successful running of the Environmental Management Systems for a range of Victorian facilities. This will include but not be limited to: • Management, leadership, direction and mentoring of the regional team of Maintenance and Project Managers; • Developing, maintaining and improving internal relationships and partnerships; • Developing, maintaining and improving client relationships and partnerships; • Identifying all Environmental related risks; developing operating controls and other risk mitigation measures; and closely monitoring potential risk situations; • Participate in, and contribute to, departmental environmental working groups and committees; • Develop and deliver training and induction material to staff, subcontractors and consultants; • Monitoring the progress of the Environmental Management Program (EMP) and Environmental Management System Implementation Plan; • Acting as the focal point for all EM incident reporting as well as provide specialist advice for incident control and management; • Liaise with a range in external stakeholders, including local authorities • Particular areas of focus include: o Environmental Management and the EPBC Act; o Supporting Defence environmental programs and policies; o Overseeing the development of Environmental Clearance Certificates. • Management and reporting of Environmental issues; With a wealth of experience in Environmental Management, you will ideally possess the following Key Attributes and skills: • Relevant tertiary qualification (Environmental Management including ESD) or equivalent; • Diploma or Certificate in Delivery of Training Programs is desirable; • Proficient computer skills (MS Excel, Word, Access, Lotus Notes); • Communication Skills: high level oral & report writing; • Training and Motivation skills – ability to induct and motivate transition team members and contributors and to develop, coordinate and deliver handover training to operations teams; • Ability to develop and support appropriate solutions to EMS issues that may arise; • High level collaborative and stakeholder liaison skills; • Drive and commitment to continuous improvement in all activities; • Committed to high quality service delivery. In addition you will have: • Minimum of 5 years’ proven experience in Environmental Management; • Minimum of 3 years proven experience in a middle management role which includes development of operational processes, procedures and solutions; • Experience in development and delivery of training programs for clients and operational teams; • Experience in EMS auditing and risk assessments; • Experience in monitoring subcontractor’s and supplier’s EMS compliance; • Experience in report writing; • Experience in use of MS Office systems, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Lotus Notes. In return for your skills and experience, a salary package in the vicinity of $80-$90,000 will be offered, based on experience. Like to know more?
