Environmental Consultant, Southeast England

My client is a leading environmental consultancy working on a large variety of projects in the UK and in Europe. They are looking to hire a sustainability consultant with a proven track record in building assessments and strategies. My client is keen to see candidates with BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method) exposure and expertise as this is a specialised role requiring technical knowledge of the sustainability regulations used in construction. This role will appeal to an individual with a strong background in formulating sustainability strategies for construction who is looking to work on prominent and niche projects that will vastly expand their experience in the field. The ideal candidate will be qualified in environmental sciences with exposure to engineering, preferably mechanical.

This position will suit a technically minded and organised individual looking for career progression and wider exposure within the environmental strategy space.

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

• Consulting on large variety of issues with regard to the most cutting edge environmental legislation and sustainability on extensive on-going projects across the country
• Work with project directors and representatives to advice on and formulate the most efficient and productive environmental strategies for their projects
• Manage a team of talented analysts working to gather extensive research on the projects as well as the applicable legislation.
• Liaise with directors of the company regarding the projects you have been assigned to.

Requirements:

• 3+ years in environmental strategies for new buildings
• Energy and a proactive attitude to face challenging projects
• BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method) exposure is vital
• Consulting experience within the environmental and sustainability space
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
