Are you looking for a practical and varied career, and want to make a difference to the environment?

We are searching for a confident and outgoing candidate who holds a UK driving licence and is practically inclined and willing to get stuck in.

We have at least two permanent positions to be filled based at either:

Essex and Kent

or

Rudgwick, Surrey 

Salary £25,000 with an increase to £27,000 after successful completion of probation period

We are a small company who use ecological and engineering solutions to improve land solve complex issues and as such there will be a variety of tasks across a range of disciplines for you to assist with.

Some of the tasks you will be assisting with include:

  • Habitat Management such as controlling vegetation
  • Habitat creation such as planting trees and creating grassland.
  • Installation of wildlife fencing
  • Translocation of protected species
  • Managing contractors
  • Oversight and management of site improvement earthworks activities, - such as the placement of materials, and the installation of drainage and gas protection measures
  • Topographical surveying
  • Soil sampling and other environmental testing for verification
  • Aiding in the preparation of drawings and documents to satisfy legal obligations
  • Repairs of fencing
  • Servicing of equipment

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Confident with a ‘go-getter’ attitude
  • Practical
  • Happy to work outside in all weathers, when needed
  • Flexible with regards to working hours and location, and not adverse to an early start
  • Willing to try your hand across a wide range of tasks
  • IT literate
  • Must hold a UK driving licence
  • It would be desirable if you hold qualifications in Use of Strimmers, Tractor Driving, Pesticide Application, Use of Chainsaws etc
  • A background or interest in the fields of geography, geology, engineering, environment or ecology would be beneficial; a degree in these subjects is desirable but not essential.
