Environmental & Sustainable Rural Development Volunteers

Volunteer in sustainable rural development projects in a beautiful, subtropical part of rural Ecuador, in the foothills of the Andes Mountains. 

You will be helping a small charity working for “Green Progress”, i.e. environmentally-responsible social and economic development.  The charity, CRACYP, is recognized for pioneering work in rural development and you can help out with whatever projects are happening at the time.

Volunteer work might include helping on small, family-run organic sugar cane plantations, assisting illiterate farmers with record-keeping, helping out in the village classroom with over 40 students and just one teacher, developing an organic vegetable plot with the students, planning new projects to add value to local crops or researching excursions for an ecotourism project. 

Some Spanish lessons are included as part of the program so that you will be able to communicate with the friendly people in this small agricultural village.
