Description

1) The European Association for Information on Local Development (AEIDL) invites applications for the position of Environment Reference Person. This is a full-time position, working as part of the external communications team which provides assistance to the EU LIFE programme.

Key tasks:

As a central member of the communications team, the Environment Reference Person’s key tasks will include:

  • Assisting in the coordination of communications activities for the programmes Environment Policy & Governance component.
  • Writing, editing and managing the production of general and thematic publications and products.
  • Liaising with officers from DG Environment and the LIFE programmes external monitoring team.
  • Visiting exemplary projects in the participating countries to gather information for the communications activities.
  • Other tasks related to the communications team’s activities.

Candidate profile:

Essential:

  • Third level qualification and at least three years professional experience in an environment related field.
  • A good knowledge of EU environment policy.
  • Good written communication skills, including the ability to write reports and articles in a clear and concise style.
  • Very good command of English (spoken and written).
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to establish effective working relations in an international, multi-disciplinary organisation.

Beneficial:

  • Experience in communications, journalism or a related field
