The National Energy Foundation (NEF) is currently expanding its consultancy activities to meet increasing customer demand. A vacancy on our team exists for a Sustainability Consultant with a background in Building Services, Building Physics or the Built Environment.
We are seeking a technical specialist (engineering or science, first degree, higher degree in Building Physics or the Built Environment) who is looking for a first appointment in consultancy. The ideal person will have good interpersonal skills in a client facing role and the ability to deliver a high quality level of work within tight timeframes. Candidates should demonstrate a good understanding of building and equipment design for energy efficiency in terms of passive design features and use of sustainable energy; they should understand the current drivers for carbon reduction. Good presentation skills and writing ability are a must. Experience in the use of building design tools (e.g. TAS, Design Builder) is highly desirable.
This position would suit someone who is seeking an entry level role offering a wide range of experiences in a consulting environment, looking for a fresh approach to make a real difference.
An entry-level consultant would have the opportunity to gain first hand experience of renewable technologies and passive building design and to develop a wide range of skills. NEF can quickly offer the successful candidate direct project responsibility within a supportive environment.
