The Engineering Supervisor will be responsible for new product introduction, coordinating onsite manufacturing and providing technical support, among other duties. This position will report to the Engineering Manager, and will work closely with the Quality and Production department.
Summary of essential job functions
- Manage all new product introduction, which includes sample production
- Define product standards, technical processes and blueprints, as well as their implementation and maintenance, based on the product requirements
- Plan/co-ordinate on-site manufacturing, and provide technical support
- Responsible for fixture tool design
- Responsible for collecting labor hours and ratios, for manager's review
- Responsible for package design that fits client requirements
- Responsible for technician training in coordination with production requirement
- Responsible for alternation of design and technology
- Optimize plant production process, setup and improve production operation and process control
- Coordinate with the Quality and Production department to solve problems and provide professional advise
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Minimum requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering. MSEE, MEM or MBA’s preferred.
- At least 3 years engineering experience in manufacturing
- Experience with either project management or leading technical teams
- Experience in the solar industry is a plus
- Knowledge of relevant engineering principles, practices and methods
- Familiarity with engineering project management methods and techniques
- Able to perform a broad range of responsibilities, such as, effectively planning, organizing, assigning/directing, supervising, and evaluating subordinate work
- Established record of applying engineering principles and techniques to the solution of engineering problems
- Clear, concise written and oral communication skills
- Adept at establishing and maintaining good working relationships with those contacted in the course of the work
- Ability to work both independently and collectively, accepting complete ownership of assigned responsibilities
- Track record of working to further his or her own professional development through industry associations & conferences, technical workshops, trade publications, and additional formal education, and of mentoring less senior engineers and project managers
