As the integrated transport authority in London, Transport for London (TfL) has a key role to play in enabling the transition to a low carbon future and we are looking for three experienced energy and carbon leaders to join the team. TfL is the largest electricity consumer in London, is accountable for the operation of nearly 9,000 buses and has a portfolio of over 2,500 buildings, while having an ambitious target to be net-zero from its operations by 2030. This is an exciting time to be joining the team as we expand our Sustainability and Environment function to provide more capacity to accelerate our progress to decarbonise. Your role will be focussed on leading plans and initiatives to reduce carbon and energy costs, whilst managing the time and activities of other members of the team. Typically, the work will involve undertaking feasibility studies, managing projects through to delivery, improving our data and reporting capabilities and upskilling teams across TfL to ensure that the right carbon-conscious behaviours become embedded in all areas. The roles will also be key in our broader collaboration efforts with a wide range of stakeholders to support the transition of London’s energy system. This will include proactively seeking commercial opportunities for TfL with regard to energy generation, distribution and balancing, levering TfL’s huge asset base woven throughout the fabric of London.
