Electrical Engineer, Rotterdam, Netherlands

My client is a global leader within the wind turbine development and manufacturing sector, providing turbines world wide for market leading developers and projects and are now looking to recruit an Electrical Engineer to be based in Rotterdam in the Netherlands.

Position Overview:

As an Electrical Engineer, you will work in a multi-disciplinary project team, which includes multiple engineers and service personnel. You will be involved in every stage of design and development and will be reporting to the R&D Manager.

Responsibilities:-

• ·         Develop electrical systems or components for the wind turbine control system
• ·         Develop and maintain the electrical engineering procedures
• ·         Design and implement improvements to the hardware and software of the control system
• ·         Support activities carried out by colleagues or third parties
• ·         Play an important role in component selection
• ·         Provide general electrical engineering support
• ·         Design the wind turbine grid connection in close cooperation with the local grid company
• ·         Keep the existing installations up-to-date
• ·         Bear co-responsibility for optimal design together with other engineers

Education:-

• ·         Must have a strong academic background with a degree in Engineering (electrical, mechanical, civil) or ideally in Control System engineering

Core Requirements:-

• ·         Must be able to demonstrate that you have the technical and management skills to lead an experienced and highly qualified team of engineer
• ·         Minimum of 3 years experience in control- or electrical system engineering
• ·         Proven ability to work to demanding timescales and manage workloads effectively
• ·         Experience in Engineering risk management
• ·         Excellent communication skills including report writing, presentation and the ability to speak confidently with clients, consultants, contractors and stakeholders
• ·         Experience of design and/or construction in the coastal or offshore sector

General Requirements:-

• ·         Ability to travel
• ·         Ability to work alone as well as part of a team
• ·         The ability to manage workload and meet demanding timescales on a number of projects simultaneously
