Electrical Design Engineer, Southeast England

My client is a fast growing Specialist Renewable Energy Systems provider. They are currently hiring an electrical design engineer to assist in preparing technical designs, specifications, drawings and bids for housing and commercial projects. The role requires someone with high levels of technical ability as all design drawings will be prepared using AutoCAD software. However, the candidate will also be willing to learn to use other types of design and customer relationship management software.

Responsibilities will include but not be restricted to:

• Production of specifications, designs and drawings for commercial bids
• Production of final designs, drawings and documentation for completed projects.
• Attending to electrical and mechanical design meetings
• Preparing technical schematics and layouts
• Working closely with both operations and sales departments in project delivery
• Attending client facing meetings
• Responsible for ‘on’ time delivery of technical outputs.

Requirements:

• A degree in Building Services Design or Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a similar qualification in the construction industry
• Stimulated working in a small dedicated team where your technical expertise will become valued
• Responsible time manager, able to meet project deadlines
• Able to produce accurate, designs, specifications and drawings from surveys
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and a relevant C&G certification (or higher) is a pre-requisite.
• Capable of providing bespoke solutions
• Customer focussed
• Inquisitive and analytical problem solver
• Experience in commercial Photovoltaic (PV) projects and the renewable energy sector would be an advantage
• Excellent communication skills
