The ideal candidate should have a PhD in natural and agriculture sciences or related field (or a University
degree and 5 years of research experience after the university degree giving access to doctoral studies).
She/he should have a background in the field of desertification and land degradation and have hands-on
experience in analyzing spatial data sets and applying and developing GIS techniques related to processing
and analysis of satellite based data in view of assessment and mapping of land degradation. She/he
should have good knowledge of ARCGIS and/or Open source GIS solutions. Knowledge on environmental economics is an asset
