EDUCATION TEAM LEADER FSC Margam Discovery Centre, Port Talbot
Fixed-term up to 12 months (maternity cover)
The Field Studies Council is an educational charity that aims to provide 'inspiring environmental understanding through first-hand experience' through our extensive network of established learning locations sited throughout the UK and an increasing number of outreach locations. The FSC's main area of activity is working with schools, providing Geography, Science and other courses to complement all stages of the Curriculum.
The Education Team Leader will be expected to contribute to the leadership of the Centre as a member of the Centre Management Team; Carry out day to day management of the education team; Lead the continued development & delivery of out-of-classroom learning experiences including Biology and Geography at KS4 and A/AS level, and cross-curricular environmental programmes at KS2 & 3; and Lead Health & Safety systems for educational aspects of the Centre.
The ideal candidate will have a degree in Geography, Biology, Environmental Science or closely allied discipline, previous line management experience, previous teaching experience, and experience of writing and undertaking risk assessments. A teaching qualification, a current First Aid certificate, a full driving licence and the ability to drive a minibus would be advantageous.
Hours of work are 40 per week. FSC Salary Grade: scale points 19 - 22, currently £25,129 - £28,676 p.a.
