Responsibilities- please see attached objectives document (officer may be asked to operate outside these objectives if positive opportunities arise).Key Attributes- organised, enthusiastic, able to work independently, able to communicate effectively and experience in either education, NGO or animal welfare. Nationality- should be an Indian national Languages- should have a high intermediate English level plus the appropriate local language.Contract length- 8 months

To gain governments’ support for animal welfare education.
To research the structure of the Ministry of Education and identify key people.
To translate key documents into local language and arrange printing if necessary.
To identify other organistaions who have achieved similar objectives with Indian Ministers.
To initiate a working relationship with a member of the Ministry of Education, including meetings, presentations, and transfer of documentation.
To promote animal welfare education programmes.
To carry out a telephone survey of schools in Delhi to assess willingness to receive animal welfare education materials.
To send/deliver materials to appropriate schools/teachers.
To provide professional support for teachers to implement animal welfare activities.
To recruit 10-20 schools to attend a training workshop regarding Animal Welfare Education.
To arrange a number of demonstration classes in high profile school to promote the ‘IN AWE’ programme.
Produce and/or translate training materials for workshop.
Organize and present training workshop.
To provide those who wish to include animal welfare education within their educational system with assistance.
Initiate working relationship with relevant person with an Initial Teacher Training College in Delhi including meetings, presentations, and transfer of documentation.
To assist the growth of knowledge of animal welfare and animal welfare education by providing an opportunity to share and disseminate new knowledge and existing good practice.
To find potential researcher (MSc/PhD) to evaluate the impact of Animal Welfare on children’s attitudes and behaviour.
