Under the direct supervision of the Ecosystem Programme Coordinator, the Ecosystem Programme Officer will support IUCN’s work in the Mediterranean, with a specific focus on:
1) Lead and consolidate the work of IUCN Med in Nature-Culture interactions (with focus in Monitoring biodiversity and cultural practices) including fundraising, development of portfolio of initiatives, consolidating network of partners and managing existing projects (estimated 60% dedication) a) Support the network of partners to provide evidence and monitoring the linkages between cultural practices and biodiversity, in selected pilot sites b) Establish linkages with commission experts, institutions and consultants, and develop a network of partners and experts in the Mediterranean c) Compile existing documented examples of cultural practices and its linkages with biodiversity in Mediterranean region d) Develop communication materials, including oral and written communication and diffusion of results. e) Further strengthen capacities of partners to evaluate and justify the linkages between cultural practices and biodiversity 2) Support the reporting, communication, monitoring and evaluation of MAVA-IUCN Med programme (estimated dedication 10%) a) Support adaptive management of IUCN Med-MAVA programme by supporting the monitoring and learning process. b) Support communication and reporting on project achievements 3) Support other Ecosystem Department activities (estimated 30%) a) Support the organization of other capacity building events and materials in the Mediterranean, including workshops, virtual learning materials and webinars. b) Support the development of learning community of conservation in the Mediterranean, by facilitating networks of practitioners in key topics c) Support the implementation of activities of department including promotion and visualization of knowledge products of IUCN such as Key Biodiversity Areas, Green List of Protected Areas, Red list of Ecosystems, etc. d) Support the animation of networks of experts such as plant conservationist or protected area managers. e) Support other fundraising initiatives of IUCN Med, to consolidate portfolio of projects and initiatives 4) Undertake any other task/emerging issues at the request of the Ecosystem Programme Coordinator or the Director to ensure the effective implementation of the Programme. Salary The gross annual salary for this position is 40.480 €, subject to deductions for social security contributions and before taxes. REQUIREMENTS
