Due to continued strong growth our Newcastle Operating Centre currently has an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified and experienced Ecologist to join our NSW practice Based in Coffs Harbour you will service our offices throughout Northern NSW and assist other offices as required.
 
This role will afford you the opportunity to work on a broad range of environmental projects with a focus on delivering comprehensive client solutions on time and within budget. Key to your success will be your knowledge and understanding of industry legislation and NSW approvals processes, your strong interpersonal skills and your flexibility to travel between offices in line with project requirements.
 
Applicants should possess the following key competencies:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Ecology, Botany, Zoology or Natural Resource Management.
  • 3-6 years relevant professional experience, preferably within a consulting environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of environmental legislation.
  • Sound botanical knowledge and experience with the capability to identify plant species (native and introduced), vegetation types, endangered ecological communities and threatened plant species of the mid-north coast region.
  • Capacity to undertake small-scale, local assessments or preliminary assessments autonomously with guidance from the greater NSW ecology team.
  • Strong influencing and communication skills.
  • Highly developed writing skills.
  • Ability to work within dedicated project teams and a multidisciplinary consulting environment.
